Civilization vi developers5/1/2023 ![]() So hopefully we can expect to see even more DLC content along the lines of Civilization 6's Rise and Fall expansion, or XCOM 2's War of the Chosen.Įxpect to see Rise and Fall for Civilization 6 on February 9, 2018. As a hardcore strategy gamer who is no stranger to planning out my empire’s production dozens of turns in advance, I’ve already turned to Civ V for my world-conquering needs â but at the same time, if anything is going to rear a new generation of strategy gamers like the very first Civilization did for me, it’s this. Watch the developers share their vision behind the next big game update for Civilization VI. The Sid Meier's Civilization VI Development Assets package contains the following files and folders in its /pantry folder, which is next to the ReadMe.txt (77 B) file: \Animations \ArtDefs \Assets \Behaviors \DSGs \EnvironmentLights \Geometries \LightRigs \Lights \Materials \ParticleEffects. That's why even if Take-Two interactive chairman and CEO Strauss Zelnick told investors that " recurrent consumer spending" should be expected from its products, Firaxis has a special soft spot for big expansion packs. One reason for the expansion pack love is because with games like Civilization and XCOM, expansion packs can add "not just content in the way that some other game are able to do," explained Stenger, "but really deep changes to our systems and rules." At some point, Firaxis have to move on because of diminishing returns, need to develop new IP, or just creative exhaustion. Fair enough - the game has had multiple years of support, has tonnes of content, and, you know, has Trebuchets. ![]() They can now load up this app and log talent releases, shot lists, crew contracts, and other film production paperwork.īut the app isn’t limited to the production department. ![]() So it only makes sense that an app like Cinema Forms exists to help producers and other production personnel ditch all the various paper documents they have for digital archives. It’s also wildly more convenient than shuffling through paper printouts. Camera crews might load a phone with camera manuals ( or pocket guides!) to avoid wasting paper and space. For instance, pilots now carry iPads instead of flight manuals. One of the greatest features of smartphones and tablets is their ability to consolidate tons of information into a tiny package. ![]() There’s an older version that predates this HD version with less features (although half the cost). One last piece of advice: be careful when searching the app store for this app. Even for those filmmakers talented with a pen, the level of interaction you can add to the storyboards and the additional features provided over physical alternatives is worth the $30. You can do about as much with Storyboard Composer as you can with physical boards - even the ability to hone your pace and audio pitch and export it as a movie file to send to investors.Īt $29.99, the price may be higher than most apps, but you can more than make up the cost when you consider the amount of time you may spend drawing boards yourself or the cost of hiring an artist to do them. Re-arrange boards in case of an emergency change.Add audio to said animations to give a better idea of pacing.Animate storyboards with custom time frames.Pre-visualize scenes/shots using real images or storyboard drawings. It is, after all, a well-developed and fully-featured piece of software. Having been around for several years now, I wonder how Cinemek’s Storyboard Composer has slipped through the cracks of this cinematography apps series so far. But its beauty is the ability to distill powerful features into an intuitive interface. Overall, for anybody who likes to diagram and has been looking for a digital alternative to paper, Shot Designer should be at the top of your list. If Shot Designer sounds intense, that’s because it is. The app is available as a universal app (iPad + iPhone) for free, but, as mentioned above, has an in-app upgrade to enable things like archiving of shots. What does that mean? It means you get not just a camera diagram, but a plan that can be animated, ties into a shotlist (that autopopulates), can feature storyboards, and will sync with multiple members of your crew/production team. With the pro upgrade ($19.99) you get additional features like the ability to export/save/print scenes and a desktop version of the software. It features a fluid, no-nonsense interface and, while it looks simple, is incredibly powerful.Īs the developer says, it’s “camera blocking on steroids.” Shot Designer might be the only app you need to build lighting, camera, and blocking diagrams. ![]() So get that iPhone out, hit the App Store icon, and get your fingers ready to search: I’m going to show you 5 cinematography apps definitely worth a download. Some apps are as simple depth-of-field calculators, while others are complex storyboarding platforms. With a growing library of apps targeted towards filmmakers, your iDevice stands to be one of the most useful tools in your kit - if you’re pairing it with the right software.Īll it takes to use is an iPhone, iPod Touch, or an iPad - tools that filmmakers are finding more uses for each day on set. That’s the last benchmark Apple passed with its iOS App Store.Īnd out of those apps, many are designed specifically to make your life as a filmmaker easier. 50 billion downloads out of 900,000+ apps.

Closed hands open arms hold nothing5/1/2023 pink) and that boys demonstrate a preference towards cooler colours (i.e. In addition, some researchers have reported that girls tend to use more colours per drawing than boys do, with a preference for warmer colours (i.e. In general terms, there is a tendency in children to prefer to draw their own gender. Girls usually draw rounded shapes, including flowers, hearts, while angles, boxes, and straighter lines are characteristics of boys, along with cars, buses, etc. Unsurprisingly, there are some differences between how and what girls and boys draw. There is more depth and realism, and the use of new viewpoints is possible. Drawings of humans will have more details, possibly including freckles. Words and symbols might be added to give further messages of explaining the drawing. For example, a drawing of the ocean might include sea gulls, starfish, a beach ball, people wearing bathing suits, etc. In this stage there is some evidence of schema. At the end of the stage, they begin adding in certain things that set their ideas apart, such as flowers in front of a house or clothes on the stick figures. There are usually no realistic details to these drawings. They might draw the simplest things, such as faces, stick figures, cars, trucks, trees, and houses. It might seem like there is nothing there, but sometimes children create something called “fortuitous realism.” This means that when the scribbles are done, you might be able to see certain shapes, resembling a car or a house.Īt this stage, children attempt to create things they see with their eyes. There are three stages of children’s drawings: Scribbling, Pre-Schematic, and Schematic stages.Īt this stage, there is no realism in the pictures, and they are mostly just marks on a page. Asking questions, such as what the people in the drawing are doing, can reveal things from your child that you might never see yourself. So, don’t read too much into a drawing, but instead allow the child to tell you what the drawing means to them. But sometimes, interpreting children’s drawings means that you discover a deeper layer to what they are thinking and feeling. Sometimes drawings are just drawings, with nothing more than a fun playtime showing itself on the page. Children’s drawings are unique and can give us precise information about the young artists.Įvery parent hopes to find some meaning in his child’s drawings. ĭrawing is an outlet for communication, and children’s artwork represents a view of their personalities. ![]() They express their fears, joys, dreams, hopes and nightmares through drawings, and also give you leads about their relationships to the world and to other things. They draw in order to express emotions, because they don’t know how to express different feelings through words. ![]() For little ones drawing represents a natural activity, usually with much enjoyment. Ĭhildren begin their drawing process from the moment they are big enough to hold a crayon or pencil and put it to paper. Children’s drawings can tell you so much about their fears, joys, dreams, hopes and nightmares, but they also give you a precious view of their personalities. Samsung galaxy tab notes5/1/2023 ![]() They might prefer something small like the iPad Mini, or something sized with a more normal 9 to 10 inches, and there are a lot in that category.Īnd then there are the bigger tablets, models that are often larger so they can be computers, as well. Not everyone needs a tablet, but those who do will have preferences about the sizes they love more. The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra comes running the latest Android 12 out of the box with Samsung’s OneUI 4.3 applied on top.Need something bigger than the iPad Pro? The Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra maxes out tablet sizes to 14 inches, but is it usable, and worth the price? Samsung committed to up to four years of OS updates.Advanced features – especially photo-editing tools – baked in.Ships with the latest Android 12 with Samsung OneUI 4.3.It’s a similar story with wireless charging, with the 15W lagging behind the super-fast wireless charging on offer from key rivals – but at least the low power requirements mean you’ll be able to use most third-party Qi chargers. That’s not at the same level as theīlack Shark 4 Pro’s 120W fast charging tech, but it’ll suffice for the majority of users. If you do get your hands on one, expect to see around 66% in half an hour and a full charge in around an hour. The catch is, like most other Samsung phones, you don’t get a 45W charger in the box. In testing, the S22 Ultra managed to last 10 hours and 30 minutes in our benchmark test at full WQHD+ resolution, and dropping down to FHD+ provided an extra two hours of battery life, coming in at 12hrs 30 minutes.Ĭharging is an area where the S22 Ultra has improved, up from a rather pedestrian 25W to a faster – but still not leading – 45W when charged via USB-C. That can be extended to around 1.5 days if you drop down to FHD+ though – something that won’t be noticeable to most users anyway. Overall battery life depends on factors including refresh rate and resolution, with the S22 Ultra able to last all day with the combination of an adaptive refresh rate and WQHD+ resolution with average use, but it won’t quite span a full second day. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra packs the same 5000mAh battery as its predecessor, so it should come as no surprise that battery life is comparable with last year’s S21 Ultra in testing. ![]()

Time timer clock5/1/2023 ![]() An RTC will have several possible events to generate a processor interrupt.Īn RTC often has a dedicated power pin to allow operation when the rest of the microcontroller is powered down. A common option is a 1 Hz square wave from an output pin. Some RTCs have specialized counters to keep track of the time of day and the calendar date.Ī basic RTC without time and date counters uses software for this purpose. An external clock source allows the use of a very accurate and stable device such as a TCXO (temperature-compensated crystal oscillator).Ī clock source is selected with a multiplexer and input to a prescaler which divides the clock by a factor of 32,768 (215) to produce a one-second clock.Ī basic RTC has a seconds counter which is usually 32 bits or more. The next diagram shows common hardware features of an RTC.įigure 2. Real-time clock hardware featuresĪn RTC often has its own internal oscillator with an external crystal and an option to use an external frequency reference. Two primary requirements of an RTC are accuracy and continuous operation. Notice the seconds counter runs continuously and does not stop and start. You can see a representation of this in the diagram below.įigure 1. This timing diagram depicts the basic function of an RTCĪlso shown is a program function, A, reading a seconds counter and scheduling an event, B, to occur three seconds in the future. The real-time clock's basic function is to produce intervals of one second and maintain a continuous count. This article describes RTCs inside a microcontroller. There are RTC devices external to a microcontroller which interface with an I 2C or SPI bus. Many of the features of an RTC are very specialized and required for maintaining high accuracy and very reliable operation. In addition, an RTC is often used to keep track of clock time and calendar date either in software or hardware. Real-time clocks (RTC) are timers dedicated to maintaining a one-second timebase. The first article describes the major features of most types of timers and covers periodic timers, and the second covers pulse width modulation MCU timers. Monitor timed responses to assist with diagnoses. This article is the third of a series on microcontroller timers.Keep sessions focused and on track, and manage time in between sessions to document notes.See at a glance how much time is left with no disruptive alarm.Helps visitors and new caregivers stick to the family routine.Shows when challenging activities will end: “Let’s go shopping for 30 minutes.”.Encourages confidence, independence and natural talents like visual thinking.Eases stressful transitions by showing “how much longer” and “here’s what ‘5 more minutes’ really means.”. ![]() Use the Time Timer anywhere to help “manage life” and develop a reliable internal clock. This is a powerful tool for visual thinkers of all ages and abilities.Īdults and children with learning disabilities & ADHD: Recommended by Autism and ADHD experts, the Time Timer displays the passage of time with a disappearing red disk. For those who learn differently, this type of abstract thinking is even more difficult and often creates a high level of anxiety. There’s a world of difference between looking at a clock and being able to say that it’s 3 o’clock and understanding “how long” 5 minutes is. |
